先日、知人の紹介でJonny Liさんという方にお会いしました。
彼はStartup Weekend Tokyoというイベントを主催されていて、
その集客の相談を頂いたのですが、彼の志に非常に感銘を受け、
僭越ながらその志を伝える手伝いをしようと考えています。
以下は話を伺いながらとったメモをまとめたものです。

多くの日本人サラリーマンは毎日満員電車に乗り、
目一杯働いて、疲れて寝る、という生活を繰り返しています。
その日本人の勤勉さは世界に誇れる点でもあるのですが、
他国から見ると少し異常にも映っているようです。
一方で、若い世代が結婚しにくかったり、子供を作らなかったりする
問題もクローズアップされています。
これらの理由も実は根本的なところは同じではないか、と考えます。
それは、特に若い世代にお金の自由・時間の自由がないことです。
不況に陥った上に震災も重なったため若い人々は保守的になって、
収入が少なくても安定している職業を目指すようになっています。
あまり頑張らなくてもそこそこの給料が貰えれば
しかし、それは違います。若い人が頑張れる社会にならなければ、
日本は良い方向に行かない。
Startup Weekendはアメリカで生まれたイベントで、
端的に言えば、起業しようと考えている人が参加する起業コンテストですが、
このイベントには日本の未来を作り出す力があります。
どうにかしたいと思っている・でもリスクは取れない、という人でも、
２日半だけならばチャンスに費やせませんか？
失敗しても、週末だけならば「良い経験になった」で済みますし、
恐らくそれ以上の何かを得ることができます。
また、Startup Weekendでアイディアが具体性を持つようであれば、
そこから起業を目指すことも可能です。もちろん、作ることでの満足も、
同じような仲間を探すためにも使えます。
